When I decided it was time to get another puppy. I started looking at the local animal shelter. I would go a couple of times a week for weeks. When I saw the ad in the paper: Free Puppy. I arranged to meet the couple that owned him.  The first time I saw Wylie has had a FULL coat of hair. The couple told me Wyllie’s story.  They had helped homeless couple by purchasing them bus tickets home and agreeing to keep Wylie till they could send for him.  After a couple of months and no contact, it was decided that Wylie need a new home because they already owned a cocker and had a small child.  I figured it was a sign when she introduced herself as Cathy and said that her husband was in Air Force. My name is Cathy and I was raised as an Air Force child.  After lying in the driveway with him I took him home, he was now my dog.

So I thought, that afternoon when I picked up the kids from school I managed to keep Wylie a secret.  When we walked in the house, Wylie ran down the hall managing to scare his future sleeping partner Vincent.  I can honestly say Wylie adjusted to life with us and Bear.  He uses to make us wonder if he was part cat, due to his way of sleeping. Twisted dog, head in one direction and the backend going in the other direction.

The year of 2001, we found out that Wylie was prone to stones and life changed for us all. Now he was on special diet, meds, and bottle water he became known as the Million Dollar Dog.

In Feb of 05, Wylie started to have symptoms that resembled autoimmune disease. A series of test where done that came back negative.  By March he had, had enough. When I would look at him all I could see was that he was asking for relief to let him go.

I complied.
